Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for ensuring accurate entry, coordination and management of all warehouse physical activity with the Company's Warehouse and Patient Management systems. This position engages in a variety of warehouse and business transactions that are critical to the operation of the Murray Distribution Center including supporting the accurate and timely supply of products to the Company's patient base.

  • Assigns and conducts Aisle QA reviews. Log and address findings
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, vendors, and other departments both verbally and in writing to ensure questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner
  • Database management
  • Ensure transaction activity is reconciled between all applicable business systems
  • Establish relationships with department peers and other departments
  • Functions as a guide and trainer for staff/student employees, interns and/or volunteers performing related work
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse working environment
  • Maintain inventory system accuracy between physical quantities and Warehouse Management System (WMS) quantities
  • May participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation
  • Order planning and printing, inventory allocation and order audits
  • Performs physical inventory cycle counts and periodic physical inventory
  • Plan and Print waves in Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Practices safe work habits, ensuring a safe work environment
  • Prompt investigation and resolution of all on hand inventory issues, variances and transaction discrepancies
  • Purchase activities for stock and non-stock inventory to support business needs and avoid stock outs and backorders
  • Reconcile stock counts to report data
  • Responsible for an area or areas of expertise and general working knowledge of all other areas
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understand the integrations and dependencies of the warehouse operations and processes with the Warehouse Management System
  • Volunteers and performs other duties as required or assigned
  • Work as a team to achieve daily warehouse management, accuracy and shipment goals
  • Works well with a team and all coworkers

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on

  • Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Experience with medical equipment, preferred
  • Experience in medical field, distribution and inventory management, preferred
  • One year of related work experience, preferred
  • Medical terminology, preferred

Skills and Competencies

  • Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
  • Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

  • Handheld bar code scanner, manipulate the scanner and input the required data
  • Utilize a computer and operate select functions within the Warehouse Management System
  • Utilization of certain material handling equipment
  • Email transmission and communication
  • Internet navigation and research
  • Microsoft applications; Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Office equipment; fax machine, copier, printer, phone and computer and/or tablet

Physical Demands

  • Lift individual boxes
  • Manipulate pallets of products using a hand truck
  • Accessing product using approved safety stairs
  • Clearly read small print on forms and product labels
  • Extensive walking and working on one's feet for extended periods of time
  • Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
  • Warehouse and office environment; primarily indoors, but some outdoor work may be required
