Biomedical Research Laboratory Manager

Core Duties:

• Laboratory Operations Management:
  
  
  
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day laboratory activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Implement new programs, tests, methods, and instrumentation
  • Manage lab personnel daily duties, including training and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Schedule and assign employees based on lab operational needs
  
  
  
  
• Research Project Coordination:
  
  
  
  • Oversee the planning, initiation, and execution of research projects
  • Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines
  • Collaborate with principal investigators and other stakeholders
  • Maintains medical laboratory productivity by monitoring the workload of functional areas
  
  
  
  
• Budget Management:
  
  
  
  • Develop and manage the laboratory budget
  • Allocate resources efficiently and seek cost-saving opportunities
  
  
  
  
• Quality Control and Assurance:
  
  
  
  • Achievequality results by participating in the hospital quality assurance program
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures for experiments and data collection
  • Ensure compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and other relevant standards
  • Adhereto specimen preparation procedures
  
  
  
  
• Equipment Maintenance:
  
  
  
  • Establishquality standards to maintain medical laboratory equipment performance
  • Coordinate the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed
  
  
  
  
• Data Management:
  
  
  
  • Implement data management systems and protocols
  • Identifyinformational needs to manage medical laboratory information systems
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with privacy regulations
  
  
  
  
• Collaboration and Communication:
  
  
  
  • Facilitate communication among laboratory members and with external collaborators

• Grant and Proposal Support:
  
  
  
  • Prepare grant applications and research proposals

  • Stay informed about advancements in the field and emerging technologies
  • Support the professional development of laboratory staff
  • Complywith state and professional continuing education licensure requirements
  
  
  
  
• Environmental Health and Safety:

  • Coordinate with environmental health and safety officers to ensure compliance
  
  
  
  
• Documentation and Reporting
  
  
  
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory activities
  • Prepare reports for senior management or funding agencies
