JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Sciamanna team in the Department of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Human Research Technologist who is passionate about improving health equity. The research team is dedicated to increasing the percentage of American adults who are physically active each week through physical activity programs. Specifically, the team's goal is to design programs that are effective, keep participants engaged, and can be implemented in different populations. This position will assist on a diversity supplement by working with external Hispanic and Latino community organizations as well as community health clinics to recruit and onboard underrepresented older adults with mobility issues into a strength training study. Responsibilities include: Recruit study participants by attending community events and describing study procedures, risks, benefits, and eligibility requirements; schedule and complete data collection assessments/measurements for the study; maintain participant database; maintain team study supplies and equipment; participate in study meetings. Study training will be provided. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be eager to engage with study participants and community partners, and have familiarity with technology. Prior background working in a research support role or within a community context is preferred. Individuals who are bilingual in English and Spanish, and those who identify as being members of underrepresented minoritized (URM) communities or have experience working with such communities, are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will require periodic travel throughout the Harrisburg, Lebanon, and Lancaster area. This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This position may also require occasional evening/weekend availability as events require.
