General Information:

Under general supervision, you will be expected to follow specific directions to perform tasks in an assigned area in a heavy manufacturing environment. Assignments may include but are not limited to:

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties in a manner fully compliant with prevailing safety and quality procedures and policies. Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Use engineering drawings to fabricate and weld product ensuring the highest quality product, meeting product standards, production goals, customer specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Manually operate equipment to weld material used in transformer manufacturing.
  • Operate computer to check schedules, update manufacturing status of jobs, etc.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, check sheets, etc.
  • Operate various types of cranes and fork trucks to aid in material handling.
  • Continually monitor quality of work, addressing and resolving inquiries and problems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and group discussions.
  • Interface with other departments to accurately communicate information.
  • Must be willing to cross train in multiple skills.
  • Assist in the training of other employees.
  • Must be a team player but able to work independently.
  • Available to work overtime as required including weekends.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned by management.
  • Cooler, panels, seam and base welding GMAW; some is performed with semi-automated equipment.

Your Background:

  • High School degree or GED equivalent required.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Previous GMAW welding experience is required.
  • Must demonstrate acceptable GMAW welding skill during interview process. Weld sample will be subject to visual inspection and destructive testing.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment, including cranes and forklifts.
  • Preferred qualification:
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and simple schematics.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing including 4Q, JIDOKA, 6S, etc.

Second shift positions are available. Training may occur on a different shift before being moved to assigned shift.
