The Opportunity

US Patriot is seeking a District Manager to lead the performance and development of retail branches within an assigned district of approximately 10-20 locations. This role creates clarity, strengthens leadership capability, and drives consistent execution through effective communication, systematic training, strategic decision-making, and disciplined follow-through. The District Manager serves as the subject matter expert for branch operations, personnel actions, and administrative functions, while partnering with the Regional Director of Military Operations and cross-functional teams to advance organizational goals. The role is accountable for revenue growth, margin improvement, expense management, profitability, inventory performance, customer experience, and the development of a strong internal leadership bench.

Empower first, reinforce accountability, and maintain high standards. District Managers give leaders the trust, tools, context, and appropriate autonomy to act, then establish clear measures, review execution, and address gaps. They teach the standard, coach observable performance, mentor for broader judgment, and prepare others to assume greater responsibility.

What You'll Do

Revenue, Profitability, and Operational Efficiency

  • Lead district performance by reviewing sales, margin, profitability, inventory, payroll, expenses, and personnel results for each location; identify root causes and implement measurable action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Manage core reporting and key performance indicators through disciplined analysis of sales, inventory, customer, workforce, and financial data; translate findings into clear priorities, owners, milestones, and follow-up routines.
  • Build financial and operational capability in branch leaders so they can read performance trends, explain business drivers, make sound recommendations, and take ownership of results.
  • Establish annual sales and profitability goals for each location, communicate expectations clearly, and maintain a regular performance review cadence focused on progress, barriers, and corrective action.
  • Monitor branch expenses and staffing plans to ensure compliance with operating budgets while protecting service, execution, and long-term business health.
  • Solicit regular feedback from retail teams on product requests, selection, and availability; collaborate with the Regional Director and partner departments on inventory strategy, assortment, and planograms.
  • Ensure management teams are trained and compliant with inventory management processes; monitor discrepancies, cycle counts, receiving controls, and corrective actions for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify district-level opportunities and lead business improvement initiatives from problem definition and root-cause analysis through implementation, measurement, and recommendations for continued improvement.

Leadership Development, Talent, and Succession

  • Create and maintain a strong leadership bench by identifying high-potential employees, providing meaningful developmental assignments, and preparing leaders for expanded scope and future opportunities.
  • Coach, teach, and mentor branch management using a deliberate progression: teach correct and complete processes, coach execution through observation and feedback, and mentor leaders to understand the business rationale and exercise sound judgment.
  • Maintain visible leadership presence across the district. Participate in store operations, evaluate execution firsthand, ask purposeful questions, and provide timely, specific follow-up.
  • Solve problems in a way that builds employee capability rather than dependence. Guide leaders to assess facts, identify root causes, evaluate options, decide, and own the outcome.
  • Position employees for future accountability by delegating meaningful work, defining decision rights, establishing success measures, and providing support without removing ownership.
  • Develop individual training and development plans for branch leaders; conduct regular readiness discussions and ensure agreed actions are completed and measured.
  • Promote peer-to-peer support and knowledge sharing across locations so strong practices are replicated and district execution becomes more consistent.
  • Responsible for hiring, staffing, onboarding, training, coaching, motivating, and retaining store leadership. Provide annual reviews for direct reports and conduct ongoing performance conversations throughout the year.

Customer Service, Marketing, and Training

  • Develop customer experience practices by assessing in-store and online interactions, gathering feedback, and converting insights into practical improvements.
  • Maintain a standard training model for new employees and leaders, including structured expectations, hands-on practice, repetition, knowledge checks, and follow-up evaluation.
  • Plan and coordinate quarterly training events so management staff and sales associates remain knowledgeable about products, services, systems, standards, and business priorities.
  • Educate staff on merchandising standards, floor plans, product placement, and selling behaviors that improve the customer experience and financial performance.
  • Actively seek marketing opportunities and make recommendations to the Regional Director, including expected operational requirements and measures of success.
  • Gather and analyze competitive intelligence from appropriate human and published sources to identify market trends, industry developments, risks, and opportunities for US Patriot branches.

Administrative Operations and Execution Discipline

  • Implement standard scheduling practices that align customer demand, payroll budgets, coverage needs, and balanced full-time/part-time staffing ratios.
  • Review payroll reports to ensure timecards are approved, schedules are followed, exceptions are addressed, and company policies are applied consistently.
  • Monitor weekly completion and quality of branch administrative requirements, including deposits, expense receipts, inventory documentation, and monthly reporting.
  • Know and administer company Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure compliant and consistent application across locations.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms for district calls, one-on-one meetings, store visits, action-plan reviews, and escalation of risks.
  • Follow through on commitments and require the same from branch leadership. Communicate risks early, document decisions, and close the loop with affected partners.

Communication, Influence, and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Communicate company objectives, business context, standards, and priorities through scheduled calls, written communication, field visits, and individual coaching.
  • Influence across a distributed organization by building trust, listening actively, adapting communication to the audience, and aligning teams around shared outcomes.
  • Present district performance, risks, action plans, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources, Merchandising, Marketing, Inventory Management/Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, vendor representatives, and military leadership partners to achieve performance goals.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with branch teams and external organizations while representing US Patriot and Galls with professionalism and integrity.
  • Travel may exceed 50%. The amount and duration of travel will vary based on company needs.
