Job Description

Missouri S&T Athletics is seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our athletic communications event crew for home athletic events. This role is essential to the operation of our game-day experience, ensuring accurate, real-time statistical tracking and contributing to official NCAA reporting.

Selected individuals will be trained to operate NCAA Live Stats and PrestoSports systems (when applicable) and will serve as the official team statistician during assigned events. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires focus, accuracy, and the ability to remain engaged for the duration of live competition.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the official statistician for scheduled Missouri S&T home athletic events (sports include basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, as well as assisting with football)
  • Input and maintain real-time game statistics using NCAA Live Stats (and occasionally PrestoSports, if needed)
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of all recorded data during live competition
  • Communicate with officials, game staff, and athletics personnel as needed
  • Occasionally assist with public address (PA) duties, including announcements and game scripting
  • Work entire athletic events from start to finish, including setup and post-game wrap-up

Training:

  • All selected candidates will receive training on NCAA Live Stats and PrestoSports systems as needed prior to working events. Training will also be provided on each sport's rule and statistician manual.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in sports, athletics operations, sports information, or gaining hands-on experience in collegiate athletics environments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to stay focused for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort working with computers and learning new software systems
  • Reliable availability for scheduled athletic events, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a game-day operations team
  • Prior statistics, sports information, or game operations experience is helpful but not required (training will be provided)
