Business Transformation Leader

EmblemHealth
United States, New York, New York
Nov 03, 2026

Summary of Position

  • Work with senior leadership from diverse functional areas across the enterprise to bridge the gap between high-level company strategy and day-to-day execution by reshaping processes, technology, and culture.
  • Drive strategic initiatives from concept through execution and responsible for producing measurable business outcomes.
  • Provide project and process oversight, create momentum, challenge conventional thinking, mobilize cross-functional stakeholders, remove barriers, accelerate decision-making, and drive initiatives toward their intended business outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to define long-term transformation roadmaps and business cases. Translate strategic priorities into actionable execution plans with clear outcomes, measurable targets, milestones, dependencies and accountable owners. Establish clear action plans, owners and deadlines for critical decisions and unresolved issues.
  • Connect strategy, people, processes, technology and operational changes to ensure initiatives progress as an integrated transformation agenda.
  • Lead the integrated execution of multiple transformation initiatives and interconnected workstreams across business and technology functions.
  • Take proactive lead of assigned transformation initiatives, driving them from strategic intent through implementation, adoption and benefits realization. Manage multi-workstream project plans, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and KPI tracking.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate delivery, simplify execution and improve the effectiveness of transformation initiatives. Intervene early when initiatives lose momentum, milestones slip, or expected outcomes are at risk while establishing and driving corrective actions through resolution.
  • Provide follow-up and ROI analysis of results: ensure initiatives deliver measurable business improvements rather than merely achieving project completion.
  • Oversee project delivery to ensure quality, timeliness, and strategic alignment with client goals. Actively manage cross-functional dependencies, resource constraints, sequencing, critical paths and competing priorities.
  • Challenge the status quo, surface difficult issues and constructively confront assumptions, delays and execution gaps. Proactively engage business leaders, initiative sponsors and functional owners to secure decisions, resolve conflicts and maintain delivery momentum. Push stakeholders beyond passive participation toward active ownership and timely execution.
  • Establish clear accountability for commitments, deliverables, decisions and outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Identify execution bottlenecks, organizational friction and decision delays that threaten transformation progress.
  • Escalate unresolved barriers decisively, presenting clear options, recommendations, implications and required decisions.
  • Drive timely resolution by bringing the right decision-makers together and presenting fact-based recommendations.
  • Challenge unnecessary complexity, excessive governance and inefficient processes that slow execution, and unrealistic commitments, competing priorities and activities that compromise business value.
  • Mobilize the right stakeholders around shared objectives and resolve coordination gaps that impede execution.
  • Anticipate downstream impacts and proactively address risks before they affect delivery or business outcomes.
  • Maintain momentum by converting decisions into actions and ensuring commitments translate into tangible progress.
  • Establish and maintain a clear line of sight between transformation initiatives, strategic objectives and expected business benefits.
  • Define and track outcome-oriented performance indicators, value targets, delivery milestones and leading indicators of success.
  • Partner with business owners and finance to validate baselines, quantify expected benefits and track realized value.
  • Identify gaps between planned and actual outcomes and drive corrective actions to protect value realization.
  • Ensure business changes are embedded into operations and benefits are sustained beyond implementation.
  • Provide transparent, evidence-based reporting on delivery health, business impact, risks and value realization.
  • Provide senior leadership with a clear, fact-based view of transformation progress, business outcomes, execution risks and decisions required.
  • Move beyond status reporting to deliver actionable insights, forward-looking assessments and practical recommendations.
  • Surface uncomfortable truths early, without filtering or delaying material information about delivery challenges.
  • Develop recovery plans for initiatives that are off track and drive them through execution.
  • Support leadership prioritization by identifying trade-offs, capacity constraints, dependencies and opportunities to maximize business value.
  • Demonstrate a bias for action, urgency, accountability and measurable results.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operating models, processes, productivity, customer experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, constructive challenge and disciplined execution.
  • Apply lessons learned across initiatives to improve delivery effectiveness and prevent recurring execution failures.
  • Champion sustainable change by ensuring transformation outcomes are adopted, operationalized and maintained.
