The Sr. Pulmonary Epic EMR Analyst is the technical and informatics owner for UC San Diego Health pulmonary service line for the Epic Orders team. The role designs, builds, tests, and implements Epic's inpatient Clinical Documentation and Orders module and related clinical application systems, and owns the full technical portfolio of third-party applications associated to the service line, including support, maintenance, upgrades, testing, vendor coordination, and issue resolution. Because much of this work depends on devices and applications that live outside Epic, the analyst also supports integration with third-party hardware and software, analyzes and maps external devices to the EMR, and serves as the primary contact for third-party vendors on application support and configuration. The analyst brings expert knowledge of Epic ClinDoc/Orders and of clinical workflows, and translates clinical and operational requirements into sustainable technical solutions. As a technical leader in clinical applications, the analyst applies advanced professional concepts and broad industry knowledge to lead or contribute to medium and large projects of wide scope and complexity, and serves as the escalation point for complex system issues.
