Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $ $106,073 - $132,600. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join our Team as an Assistant Manager, Information Technology!

The Assistant Manager, Information Technology leads the day-to-day operation, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments. This role provides technical and people leadership across systems administration, servers, storage, virtualization, networking, backup, monitoring, identity-adjacent infrastructure, and cloud platform operations. The role translates business and IT priorities into stable, secure, scalable infrastructure services while developing team members, improving operational processes, and partnering with cybersecurity, workplace enablement, applications, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations for the Platform & Infrastructure team, ensuring enterprise infrastructure services remain reliable, secure, performant, and aligned with business needs.

• Manage the design, administration, maintenance, and lifecycle of servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, monitoring, cloud resources, and related infrastructure services.
• Develop standards, operating procedures, service health measures, and documentation to improve consistency, resilience, supportability, and audit readiness.
• Lead infrastructure incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and corrective actions to reduce recurring issues and business disruption.
• Plan and execute infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, patching, capacity improvements, and modernization initiatives across global or multi-site environments.
• Ensure infrastructure work follows change management, cybersecurity, access control, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.
• Coach, develop, and assign work to team members; set priorities, remove barriers, and support performance, accountability, and career growth.
• Partner with cybersecurity, workplace enablement, applications, service desk, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated technology solutions.
• Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies, standards, and rules.

Additional functions

Maintain regular and punctual attendance and participate in required on-site, virtual, and after-hours support activities as needed to sustain critical infrastructure services.

• Represent the Platform & Infrastructure team in planning sessions, operational reviews, audits, and project governance meetings.
• Review operational metrics, service trends, risks, and backlog items to recommend improvements to service quality and team capacity.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, renewals, licensing, procurement, and vendor performance activities for infrastructure services.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members, leaders, vendors, and business partners.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll need to succeed:

Required

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments and leading complex technical initiatives.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience, including leading people, projects, workstreams, or technical initiatives.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise infrastructure operations, including servers, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, networks, cloud platforms, and data center services.
• Ability to lead technical teams, assign priorities, coach team members, manage escalations, and build accountability in a service-oriented environment.
• Experience operating or supporting hybrid infrastructure environments that include Microsoft technologies, cloud services, identity-integrated systems, and endpoint or application dependencies.
• Ability to manage incidents, changes, service requests, root cause analysis, patching, lifecycle planning, and operational risk reduction.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and prepare concise status updates, recommendations, and decision materials.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, access control, vulnerability remediation, backup strategy, disaster recovery, documentation, and audit support.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, make sound operational decisions, and contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.

Preferred

• Advanced coursework or degree in technology management, cybersecurity, cloud computing, business administration, or leadership.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Windows Server, VMware, Cisco, ITIL, cybersecurity, or project management certification.
• Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365 infrastructure dependencies, Intune or endpoint services, automation or scripting, ServiceNow, ITIL practices, and vendor or contract management.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, global operations, regulated environments, or highly available business-critical systems.

Physical Requirements

Sitting: Frequently required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based work for extended periods during the work week.

Walking: Occasionally required to walk within office, data center, lab, or site environments.

Manual Dexterity: Frequently required to use hand-eye coordination to operate office productivity equipment, computers, mobile devices, and related technology tools.

Ascending/Descending: Occasionally required to ascend or descend stairs in the office, data center, or site-based environments.

Observation/Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range when reviewing systems, documentation, dashboards, alerts, and technical equipment.

Communication: Frequently required to communicate in person, virtually, by phone, and through written updates with team members, leaders, vendors, and stakeholders.

Travel: Occasionally required to travel to company sites, vendor locations, datacenters, or project locations; occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for maintenance, incidents, or project cutovers.
