Aquent is partnering with a leading organization that is at the forefront of safeguarding customer data privacy in an evolving regulatory landscape. This organization is committed to transparency and empowering individuals with control over their personal information. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to join a pivotal initiative responsible for shaping the future of data privacy. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing solutions that ensure compliance with critical data privacy laws, directly impacting how this organization manages and protects sensitive customer data. Your expertise will drive the successful launch and ongoing enhancement of core privacy capabilities, making a tangible difference in customer trust and operational excellence. As a Product Owner, you will be a key driver in a major enterprise-wide privacy program. You will be accountable for the product and feature development and prioritization for a critical privacy product, such as data subject access requests (DSAR) or Consent and Preference Management. Your work will involve coordinating extensively with other product owners, system and project specialists, and vendors to achieve program objectives and enhance customer trust and compliance. What You Will Do:
- Lead internal business and cross-functional teams, engage with vendors and various stakeholders, and meticulously monitor and control all project activities throughout the project life cycle.
- Establish comprehensive work plans, facilitate productive meetings, assign and track tasks, develop clear status reports, and monitor project budgets and financials.
- Create and maintain essential project documentation, including detailed business requirements, stakeholder lists, and risk registers, while developing and implementing associated plans.
- Develop compelling messaging and communication strategies and materials to proactively engage stakeholders, build awareness, solicit valuable input, and foster alignment to positively influence project outcomes.
- Conduct thorough research and perform benchmarking with industry peers and organizations like the IAPP to stay informed of new legislation, emerging trends, and best practices in data privacy.
- Perform rigorous testing for changes to business processes and systems, encompassing the development of detailed test plans and test cases, execution of testing, thorough documentation of findings, and collaborative work with business and technical teams to resolve identified issues.
- Champion a customer-centric culture, focusing on meeting the needs of both external customers and internal stakeholders.
- Undertake other related tasks and assignments as required to support the program's success.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role on a technology implementation project.
- Proven ability to work independently while also driving results through effective collaboration and consensus-building among stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and flexible in managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities (both written and oral) to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Experience in developing and delivering engaging presentations and creating clear documentation consumable by users with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with practical experience in business process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a privacy, data privacy, or data governance-related role within operations, risk management, and/or compliance, particularly in designing and/or implementing privacy program elements.
- Background in organizational change management or customer experience management.
- Supervisory or management experience overseeing employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum), privacy professional certifications (e.g., CIPP-US, CIPM, CIPT), and/or certification in OneTrust.
