POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager of Equipment & Materials is responsible leading the company equipment, fleet, logistics and materials teams in efficient management, distribution, maintenance of company owned or 3rd party supplied tools, equipment and inventory. The Senior Manager of Equipment & Materials will provide direct leadership to assigned staff, as well as guidance to project assigned equipment and materials personnel. Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Planning:
- Serve and company subject matter expert in areas related to construction equipment utilization.
- May serve in the function of "Department Head" for Equipment & Materials group.
- Assist in formulating the Supply Chain functions future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
- Participate in the implementation of strategic business plans.
- Manage capital requests and group's budget.
- Develop organizational goals and performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
Operations:
- Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Understand the unique needs of industrial construction and tailor the activities of the department to supply project teams with equipment, tools, material and supplies to efficiently meet those needs.
- Authorize and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, subcontractors, carriers, insurance companies and other vendors to ensure excellence supporting field operations.
- Implement a plan to accurately track utilization and location of all the company tooling, rigging and other non-equipment material assets using electronic systems.
- Lead and direct the activities of equipment and fleet staff to accurately maintain inventory and maximize the utilization of the company tools, rigging and other material assets.
- Engage operations and project leadership on strategies to successfully execute heavy lift (crane) operations in the safest, most cost efficient manner.
- Forecast and coordinate project material and equipment need and schedule assets to ensure project requests are met on time, in the correct sequence and within budget.
- Promote a productive and profitable team relationship with internal customers on all construction projects by communicating, responding to requests and providing timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Develop, implement and audit work processes and best practices for the activities of all the company material management activities.
- Conduct investigations to determine causes of accidents involving the company storage facilities and/or fleet assets to improve safety procedures.
- Remain current with latest tooling, crane & rigging, transportation and general construction technology.
- Recommend or authorize expenditures for acquisition of new equipment, tooling or other assets to increase efficiency and services of jobsite operations.
- Develop plans and policies for improving services and increasing profit and ensure all money spent is consistent with budgets.
- Maintain a professional appearance.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

- Excellent collaboration and written/verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, power point, outlook and system databases
- Excellent knowledge of contract administration and procurement practices
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Ability to interact with all levels within the organization, client, subcontractors and suppliers to provide information necessary to obtain and complete a project
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times. HOURS: This position is a standard full-time position, with general business 40-hour operating schedule, Monday-Friday.
