Join Clariant and support our Adsorbents and Additives business unit at our production facility in Quincy, FL. As a Gel Area Operator, you will operate and monitor air classifying mills, heated impact mills, and material conveyance systems to help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will be responsible for following safety and operational standards, monitoring equipment performance, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting production goals. You will work onsite on a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary operator for the air classifying mills
- Operate and oversee mills to maintain production efficiency
- Manage bin inventory across multiple areas
- Monitor and manage gel work areas using Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens
- Respond to alarms to ensure safe and effective operations
- Identify and address safety issues, equipment malfunctions, and material spills through routine inspections
- Maintain accurate and timely process documentation
- Determine optimal conveyance paths and production modes to maximize daily output
- Ensure proper equipment operation by following standard procedures to prevent damage and maintain high production quality
- Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, and adjustments to mills and supporting equipment
- Train and provide guidance to Gel Area Operators and Trainee Gel Area Senior Operators
- Maintain a safe and organized work area and adhere to 5S and Industrial Hygiene requirements
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Experience in industrial operations, milling, or manufacturing is highly preferred
- Computer proficiency for operating HMI screens and documenting processes
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for maintenance tasks
- Comfortable working in various physical conditions including high or elevated areas
- Ability to work rotating shifts based variable sales throughout the year
