Senior Administrative Assistant - Nursing Leadership Maternal Child & Respiratory Therapy, Providence Portland Medical Center, Portland, Oregon

At Providence Portland Medical Center, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for patients and families across every stage of life. Our Maternal Child team supports families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and newborn care, while the Respiratory Therapy team delivers specialized respiratory care in partnership with physicians and caregivers.

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Administrative Assistant to support the Director of Nursing and the Maternal Child and Respiratory Therapy teams. In this role, you will be a trusted partner to nursing and clinical leadership, helping coordinate daily operations and ensuring priorities remain on track. The work schedule offered is Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm.

Key responsibilities include managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings and events, preparing agendas and follow-up actions, facilitating communication across departments, and supporting projects, purchasing activities, and operational priorities. This position is essential in keeping teams organized, connected, and focused on delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and adaptability. Success in this role requires the ability to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and build effective relationships across the organization, enabling leaders to stay focused on supporting caregivers, patients, and families.

Job Description Information:

Contributes to the operational effectiveness of the Assistant Administrator/PPMC, and Director of Mission Integration/Providence Portland Medical Center by providing secretarial and administrative support. Also supports other managers as needed.

Required qualifications:



  • 5 years of work experience in the hospital or general business setting, including 2 years spent in a position such as executive/administrative secretary.
  • Public relations or customer service based experience.
  • Experience in data entry.


Preferred qualifications:



  • 1 or more years of work experience in healthcare
  • 2 or more years of senior or executive level administrative support, inclusive of project management work
  • Expert level work experience with Microsoft Office 365 products to include software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to navigate SharePoint professionally is a plus

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
