Lending Operations Improvement Specialist


Role Summary
This role provides support for strategic initiatives across DMV, Funding, Loan Servicing, and Lending Operations. The position focuses on enhancing operational efficiency through structured project coordination, performance reporting, and quality assurance activities, with particular emphasis on lending-related process improvements. The role does not include direct people management responsibilities but requires regular collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution, compliance, and continuous improvement across lending operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management and Coordination


  • Lead and track cross-functional projects related to DMV processing, loan funding, and servicing workflows.
  • Maintain project documentation, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and monitor progress.


Reporting & Data Analysis


  • Maintain operational dashboards and reports to monitor performance and service levels.
  • Monitor trends in processing times, error rates, and funding delays to identify areas for improvement.
  • Present insights to leadership to support data-driven decisions.


Quality Control & Compliance Monitoring


  • Perform quality control checks and audits of DMV documentation, funding packages, and servicing transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and service excellence.
  • Prepare documentation for internal reviews and regulatory audits in partnership with compliance teams.



Process Improvement & Standardization


  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate workflows, identify process gaps and inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for loan servicing and DMV processes.
  • Document process changes and ensure clear communication to impacted teams.


Cross-Functional Collaboration


  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure consistent communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining training materials and procedural documentation to support operational consistency.
  • Support change management efforts by communicating updates and providing training as needed.

Qualifications

Experience


  • Three or more years' experience in operations, project coordination, or quality control within financial services or lending.
  • Familiarity with DMV title processing, loan funding procedures, and loan servicing operations.
  • Experience with projection coordination and quality assurance in a financial services environment (e.g., Excel, SmartSheet SCRUM Project Management Methodology).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


Education/Certifications/Licenses


  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)


Interpersonal Skills


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage escalations and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills desired.


Computer Skills


  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency with lending/servicing systems.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly gain proficiency in new programs.


Other Skills


  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to properly safeguard confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Compensation
The expected pay range for this role at Rize Federal Credit Union is $28.00 - $35/hour. This range is based on candidates living locally in California as this is an on-site role.


Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks. Candidates must also meet eligibility requirements to be bonded under a fidelity bond.
