                      The Accounting Lead is an independent thinker and operator with a high level of curiosity and ambition to help build critical accounting & data management capabilities that fuels the continued success of a portfolio of companies.

                      He/she will assist in the preparation and delivery of timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to key stakeholders, including the owner, business leaders, key customers, and banking partners. The Accounting Lead is responsible for managing the timely execution and accuracy of accounting and data entry/management activities. As well as driving the needed enhancements that align with our strategic goals.

                      In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting the company financial close process to ensure the financial statements are presented according to generally accepted accounting principles and that the work is done timely and accurately. This includes preparing supporting documentation for assigned general ledger accounts, making manual journal entries as needed and implementing corrective actions to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the statements. The Accounting Lead is also responsible for completing complex excel spreadsheets and related financial statement analysis, assigned projects and other financial tasks assigned by the Assistant Controller.

                      Financial Reporting



                      • Oversee and manage the processing of key financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, depreciation and amortization
                      • Ensure all related records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policy
                      • Ensure all accounting practices are in strict adherence to GAAP
                      • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial statement monthly and year-end closings, the review of account balances, reconciliation of accounts
                      • Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets, financial forecasts, financial plans, and annual business reviews
                      • Recommend and implement process improvements based on financial review findings
                      • Ownership of lease accounting under ASC 842
                      • Banking responsibilities include covenant reporting, borrowing base certificate reporting, ACH and check positive pay approvals, ACH NACHA file upload
                      • Coordinate multiple annual tax returns and external audit with external tax & audit partners (CLA)
                      • Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance and resolve any audit-related issues in a timely manner
                      • Administer internal L10 (leadership) meetings and result tracking according to EOS
                      • Execute the integration of financials with broader enterprise companies
                      • Safeguard the security, integrity, and confidentiality of financial data, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
                      • Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency
                      • Implement and execute office policies and procedures with a focus on enhancing overall accounting workflow
                      • Audit accounting processes, controls, and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and compliance Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary


                      Leadership



                      • Demonstrate excellent leadership behaviors and competencies consistent with Ascentek's culture and principles
                      • Manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned Accounting/Administration Team members through providing work direction, guidance, performance management, training, and support
                      • Provide clear guidance, support, leadership, and where required change management in the execution of the different accounting processes in achieving short-term objectives and longer-term strategies
                      • Partner & collaborate with business leaders and key stakeholders, as needed
                      • Support a team of 1 Accountant and 1 Financial Analyst in the execution of day-to-day activities and
                      • strategic initiatives including proactive accuracy/integrity monitoring and issue resolution


                        Education:



                        • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field


                        Experience and/or Training:



                        • 5+ years of related experience, 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory capacity preferred, preferably in a commercial real estate, manufacturing, or distribution environment
                        • Strong organizational skill, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
                        • Excellent Problem-Solving ability, with proven ability to create innovative solutions to problems
                        • Excellent understanding of GAAP and Accounting Procedures
                        • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers and vendors

                        Technology/Equipment:



                        • Experience with ERP software desired; MRI Commercial Real Estate, McLeod Transportation Management System and QuickBooks Online accounting software
                        • Proficient in utilizing Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
                        • Advanced Excel skills

                        • Frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and use hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls



                        • Occasionally required to stand and/or walk



                        • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds when moving files or small packages



                        • Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus



                        • Continuously required to use comprehensive reasoning, decision-making, and math skills

                          The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $80,000 and $85,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:



                          1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
                          2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
                          3. Market and industry benchmarks: We compare compensation packages with industry standards to ensure we are competitive.
