Position Title: CNC Machinist

Wage: $52,000-$76,960/year

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 3:30pm-3:30am

QPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Machinist for a company in Hobart, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity on 2nd shift.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Setup

- Load and adjust cutting tools as well as select appropriate tooling

- Select the appropriate fixtures and materials to be used on machines

- Set up production machines following set up sheets and specifications

Machine Operation

- Operate manual or CNC machines to produce tooling, core holding, and web finishing parts for machines in the most efficient way possible while maintaining quality

Programming

- Alter as needed or develop CNC programs using G & M code and Fanuc control

- Perform program edits as required

Quality Assurance

- Conduct in-process inspections while using precision measuring instruments to ensure the parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards

- Examine and measure completed parts to identify any defects and to ensure parts conform to blueprint specifications

Documentation

- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setups, tool changes, and inspection results

Maintenance

- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance

- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area

- Follow preventative maintenance procedures and proper 5S techniques

CNC Machinist Requirements:

- No minimum education required; Technical diploma or Associate degree in related field preferred

- 3-5 years of machining experience in a job shop environment, operating grinders, manual machines, horizontal and/or vertical machining centers, or CNC lathes preferred

- Internal training: LOTO yellow dot, overhead crane, and forklift

- Software/computer programs used: Epicor (ERP system)

- Strong knowledge of machining processes, including tool selection, speeds, feeds, and material properties

- Proficient in reading and interpreting shop orders and blueprints

- Understanding of G & M Code, Fanuc controls, and GD&T

- Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations

- Accurately use precision measurement tools/instruments to determine dimensions and tolerances

- Familiarity with materials commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, low carbon steel)

- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

- Effectively communicate with machine shop and cross functional teams, as well as across various shifts

- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications

- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
