Franklin Hospital is seeking a full time Security Officer to join their team! The Security Officer plays an integral role in keeping patients and care team members safe. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to remain calm and logical in a high stress environment. Reliability, time management, and excellent documentation skills are critical to success in this role. Experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate!

Summary: This position consists of 36 hours per week, evening shifts.

The Security Officer I helps maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and organizational assets through proactive patrols, incident response, policy enforcement, and customer service. The officer identifies and reports safety and security concerns, responds to emergencies, and utilizes de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral incidents. When necessary, the Security Officer I assists clinical staff in the safe management of disruptive or combative individuals using approved physical intervention techniques consistent with training and policy.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. IAHSS Basic certification required within one year of hire.
  2. License/Certifications: Valid Driver's license required based on role and location. BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) (or equivalent) NIMS 100/200/700 (as applicable); and proficiency with assigned equipment required within 30 days.
  3. Experience: Prior experience in hospital safety, security, or a related field preferred. Basic computer efficiency and ability to learn and operate security-related systems and equipment.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Must be 18 years or older; Ability to respond to behavioral emergencies and assist clinical staff in maintaining a safe environment through the application of trained physical intervention techniques when required. Required to wear assigned security and safety equipment, including a protective vest, for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Demonstrated customer service, communication, and conflict- resolution skills. Ability to maintain composure, exercise sound judgment, and interact effectively with patients, visitors, and external agencies in stressful situations.

The pay range for this position is $20.27to $24.36 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
