PE Systems is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Senior to support the strategic and operational success of NC3 (Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications) programs at Hanscom AFB, MA. - Coordinate system security implementation activities and cybersecurity processes for the development, integration, and modification of mission-critical systems.
- Provide subject matter expertise on acquisition security requirements and cybersecurity documentation in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies and guidance.
- Support System Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities throughout the system lifecycle.
- Assist with COMSEC (Communications Security) certification efforts and associated documentation requirements.
- Support the design, development, implementation, and integration of information assurance (IA), cybersecurity, and cryptographic architectures.
- Serve as the Program Management Office (PMO) subject matter expert for system security implementation and security compliance activities.
- Ensure IA security protections, cybersecurity controls, and security requirements are incorporated into system design and development efforts.
- Conduct technical reviews of system architectures, cybersecurity controls, and security engineering activities.
- Perform non-technical program and compliance reviews to evaluate adherence to security requirements and policies.
- Support development and test activities by participating in audits, assessments, and verification efforts.
- Apply security systems engineering principles across hardware, software, operating systems, networks, and application environments.
- Assess operating system security features, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Perform information assurance and cybersecurity vulnerability testing to identify and reduce system risk.
- Support cryptographic engineering activities, including requirements development, architecture design, implementation, and certification processes.
- Ensure cryptographic solutions comply with NSA/CSS policies, standards, and certification requirements.
- Implement system security and Program Protection measures for major defense acquisition and system development programs.
- Assist in the development, review, and execution of Program Protection Plans (PPPs) and related security documentation.
- Provide cybersecurity and IA/security engineering expertise in support of U.S. Government contract proposals and acquisition efforts.
- Develop, maintain, and manage security controls and Assessment & Authorization documentation in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Support implementation of DoD and Federal cybersecurity requirements while ensuring compliance with applicable security policies, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications: Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
- BA/BS or Master of Arts/ Master of Science (MA/MS) degree and over 10 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Top-Secret/SCI
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).
- Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
- Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position is estimated between $165K-$174K. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
