INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - GAS BURNER SPECIALIST Position Summary We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician with experience in industrial gas burners, combustion systems, and manufacturing equipment to support our growing manufacturing operation. This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability, maximizing production uptime, and supporting the continued expansion of our manufacturing capacity. This is a hands-on position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and optimizing production equipment, facility systems, and combustion-related equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing maintenance team to learn plant equipment, processes, and operations while developing into a key technical resource for future off-shift and second-shift operations. This role requires flexibility and a team-oriented approach, including supporting production activities and occasionally stepping into operator roles when staffing shortages occur. As production expands, this position is expected to evolve into a lead maintenance role supporting extended operating hours, equipment reliability initiatives, and future second-shift growth. Key Responsibilities Equipment Reliability & Maintenance * Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment to minimize production downtime. * Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, propane gas, and process-related equipment issues. * Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and initiate corrective actions as needed. * Support installation, modification, and improvement of manufacturing equipment. * Maintain maintenance records, equipment documentation, and spare parts inventory. * Monitor equipment performance and proactively address issues before they impact production. * Assist with root cause analysis of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. * Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety. Combustion & Energy Systems * Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial gas burner and combustion systems. * Maintain and service process ovens, curing ovens, propane-air systems, HVAC equipment, and related fuel delivery systems. * Inspect, adjust, and tune combustion equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. * Apply working knowledge of electrical controls, instrumentation, flame safeguard systems, and mechanical systems. * Understand plant processes and associated energy demands. * Recommend improvements to combustion systems and energy-related equipment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance. * Assist contractors and service providers working on combustion, HVAC, and energy systems. Production Support * Support daily production operations with a focus on maximizing equipment uptime and throughput. * Learn and become proficient in production processes and quality requirements. * Assist production teams during peak demand periods and staffing shortages. * Operate production equipment as needed to support manufacturing requirements. * Collaborate with production personnel to identify and resolve operational issues. Continuous Improvement * Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. * Support the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs. * Recommend equipment modifications, process improvements, and maintenance best practices. * Support the company's transition toward a proactive, reliability-focused maintenance culture. * Demonstrate initiative in learning new technologies and industry best practices. Safety & Housekeeping * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. * Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. * Participate in safety initiatives and actively identify and eliminate potential hazards. * Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). * Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training and related experience. * 2 years HVAC experience. * 3 years industrial maintenance experience. * Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment. * Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. * Experience repairing and maintaining industrial equipment. * Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge and experience. * Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues independently. * Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Self-starter with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work independently with limited supervision. * Ability to learn and support production operations as needed. * Ability to obtain required WorkKeys assessment scores, if applicable. Preferred Qualifications * Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. * Industrial burner, combustion system, or process heating experience. * Experience with ovens, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and associated production equipment. * HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting experience. * Electrical controls and instrumentation troubleshooting experience. * Flame safeguard and combustion control experience. * Welding and fabrication experience. * Logic-based diagnostics and troubleshooting experience. * CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience. * Preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability program experience. * Powder coating process experience.
