Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Director of Quality Assurance. The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for formulating the major objectives, policies and directives for the Quality Assurance Program and objectives established by Executive Management. Also responsible for analyzing quality system inputs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Works with operational teams to develop and implement processes and system changes and other solutions to improve efficiency, customer experience, and cost savings. This position is responsible for championing continuous improvement throughout the organization.

  • Familiar with the operations of the company to identify areas of potential opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance customer satisfaction or add revenue.
  • Develops quality assurance program objectives and goals with input of Executive Management.
  • Works with operational teams on continuous improvement projects as defined by the respective corporate leaders and executive management team. Assists the teams in developing return on investment and cost analysis, supporting documentation, and implementing agreed upon action and process improvements.
  • Plans, leads, and manages all quality assurance activities as well as oversees and leads continuous improvement projects such as HIKE, LEAN and other Six Sigma activities for the company.
  • Develops audit plans and objectives based on input from Executive Management to ensure quality system documents accurately reflect current processes or that operational teams are following established processes and procedures as prescribed in quality system documents.
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision, direction, support and coordination for quality assurance department personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Periodically analyzes system inputs such as customer reviews, audit findings, nonconformances, etc. for trends to ensure results are consistent with quality assurance objectives and goals. Summarizes those results and presents the information to the operational teams to
  • Analyzes current procedures to ensure they provide adequate guidance and address current operational processes. Makes necessary changes with operational team input
  • Provides input to Executive Management regarding operational risks and quality concerns.
  • Performs other duties as instructed by Executive Management.

Qualifications
  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Seven years Quality Management experience plus a Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the dealership operations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to champion change and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, develop and supervise employees.
  • Positive attitude and team player. Excellent personnel management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel 30% to 40%
