Work Schedule
8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.

A flexible work schedule or telework 1 or 2 days a week can be approved by the supervisor per the current telework plan.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Outreach Coordinator is an essential member of the College of Engineering team, providing direct implementation of outreach events. The Coordinator ensures that all outreach and engagement strategies align with departmental goals, uphold the College mission, and contribute to a dynamic, student-centered experience.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Duties
The Outreach Coordinator is an essential member of the College of Engineering team, providing direct implementation of outreach events. The Coordinator ensures that all outreach and engagement strategies align with departmental goals, uphold the College mission, and contribute to a dynamic, student-centered experience.
The Outreach Coordinator provides supervision and administrative oversight for College of Engineering outreach events, including but not limited to: Mini Carolina's engineering competition, Discover Engineering, teacher workshops, field trips, STEM nights, career fairs, etc. This role supports the promotion and visibility of events by managing strategic communications, supervising student ambassadors, and managing large groups of K-12 students.

  • Strong project management skills and experience with events
  • Previous experience working with large groups in higher education, K-12, recreation, or wellness industries preferred
  • Strong public speaking and problem-solving skills
  • Public relations skills to interact with a wide array of stakeholders
  • Experience facilitating STEM education programming
