JOB SUMMARY

A Senior Sales Compensation Analyst at Doble Engineering is responsible for administering and supporting the company's sales compensation programs through accurate commission calculations, incentive plan administration, reporting, analytics, and system management. This role serves as the primary operational liaison between Sales, Commercial Operations, and Finance to ensure compensation plans are accurately implemented, commissions are calculated correctly, and incentive programs are executed efficiently. This position is located at Doble's Marlborough facility and will report directly to the VP of Business Systems and SIOP.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS




  • Administer sales commission, bonus, and incentive compensation programs across the organization.
  • Calculate monthly, quarterly, and annual incentive compensation payments for internal sales teams and external channel partners in accordance with approved compensation plans.
  • Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies, payment issues, and compensation inquiries.
  • Manage commission splits, bookings credit assignments, territory assignments, and other compensation-related transactions.
  • Maintain compensation data, rate tables, hierarchies, quotas, and plan-related system information.
  • Translate approved sales compensation strategies and plan designs into executable business rules, system configurations, calculations, reporting structures, and administrative processes.
  • Build and configure compensation plans within incentive compensation management platforms and supporting systems.
  • Model proposed plan changes and analyze potential payout and financial impacts.
  • Maintain documentation for compensation plans, business rules, and calculation methodologies.
  • Prepare commission accrual reports and payout support schedules.
  • Assist Finance with commission forecasting and payout projections.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for compensation-related inquiries from sales teams and management.
  • Provide training and support on compensation processes, reporting tools, and commission statements.
  • Coordinate resolution of commission disputes and compensation-related questions across Sales, Commercial Operations, and Finance.
  • Develop and maintain compensation reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze quota attainment, earnings distributions, incentive performance, and payout trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and process automation
  • Lead the implementation of a modern incentive compensation management software platform by gathering business requirements from Sales, Finance and other stakeholders, configuring the compensation plans, testing the system and training end users


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • 5+ years of experience in sales compensation, sales operations, finance, commercial operations, revenue operations, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience administering commission or incentive compensation programs.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales and Finance organizations.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):



  • Experience implementing or administering incentive compensation management solutions such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, SAP Commissions, or similar platforms preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or SAC Analytics
  • Experience working with CRM and ERP systems, preferably Salesforce and SAP/Business Central.
  • Strong data validation, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
  • Experience with incentive compensation management platforms preferred.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
