Overview

The Wholesale/Retail Accountant - APM reconciles fuel and freight invoices, works with customers and APM staff to maintain an accurate payment process and ensures the integrity of APM's general ledger and financial statements, performing month-end and year-end closing activities, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and good internal controls.

Responsibilities



  • Process fuel invoicing and reconciliation daily
  • Draft customer accounts and provide sales staff with past due reports for collection
  • Reconcile freight billing and maintain freight rate tables
  • Communicate effectively and timely with customers and APM personnel to resolve issues and provide requested information.
  • Participate in month end fuel close process, reconciling accounts and preparing adjusting entries.
  • Validate automated daily credit card processes; identify and resolve issues by working with APM personnel to ensure proper payment.
  • Prepare assigned account reconciliations by required deadlines, research outstanding reconciling items
  • Maintain translation tables that support automated data processes, including updates for new customers, products, and other required information.

Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems and procedures
  • Good working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills including critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to nonstandard situations and apply sound judgment when established procedures do not fully address the issue
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of time management skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
