Neonatology Adjunct Instructor

Position Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expanding Newborn Nursery Team. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care.

Position Highlights:

• Coverage of the newborn nursery and Froedtert Hospital

• 100% clinical, covering on weekends and holidays as needed

• Our newborn nursery team currently consists of four pediatricians.

• Froedtert Hospital Newborn Nursery

• Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate.

Department/Division Highlights:

Board eligible/certified pediatricians needed to provide coverage of our newborn nursery at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital (FMLH) in Wauwatosa, WI on weekends or holidays as needed basis for the care of newborn infants. The coverage will be on as needed basis and may involve 1-2 weekends per month and holidays. The physician faculty member will be responsible for bedside care for newborn infants in our mother-baby unit and special care nursery of FMLH. The physician is expected to examine the infants, provide daily ongoing care, work collaboratively with the birth center staff, colleagues in the Neonatology section and primary care physicians. The faculty member will prepare the family for discharge of the infant when ready and provide communication to the primary care physician for follow up care after discharge. The responsibilities include teaching the pediatric residents, consulting the faculty members from the neonatal intensive care unit of Children's Wisconsin and other specialists from Children's specialty group as needed for the care of the infants and education of the parents in the newborn care. Selected candidates will be appointed as Instructors in department of pediatrics of Medical college of Wisconsin as part time faculty.

Qualifications:

• Medical/Doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD, PsyD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

• Board certification (or eligibility) in Pediatrics specialty.

• State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain license, in the state of Wisconsin.

Children's Wisconsin is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children.
