Job Title: Animal Technician

Location(s): San Francisco, CA

Position Overview:
We are seeking an Animal Technician to support animal care and husbandry operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with rodent husbandry; ABSL-2 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Perform rodent husbandry and routine animal care activities.
• Support animal care operations across designated campuses.
• Follow established animal care, safety, and facility procedures.
• Work collaboratively with department staff based on staffing needs.

Schedule:

• Saturday, Sunday, and three weekdays, depending on departmental needs.
• Standard shift: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Two 15-minute breaks and a one-hour lunch.
• Start time is flexible; earliest start time is 6:00 AM.

Work Location:

• Onsite position.
• May require work at Mission Bay and Parnassus campuses depending on department staffing needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with rodent husbandry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ABSL-2 experience.
• AALAS certification is a plus but not required.

Employment Requirement:

• All candidates must be W-2 employees of the submitting agency.
