Make An Impact: The Interim Marketing Director (6 Month Contract) is responsible for leading the strategic direction of all marketing activities for the Fossil brand, and execution for the NAM region.
This is a short-term (6 month) contract position for maternity leave coverage.
This role oversees a fully integrated marketing ecosystem, including Media, Social & Influencer Marketing, Retail & Store events, Trade & Wholesale Marketing, to drive brand equity, consumer engagement, and commercial performance.
As a key member of the global marketing team, this role ensures alignment between global brand vision and regional execution, delivering impactful go-to-market strategies that resonate across diverse Global markets.
This role is onsite: In office Monday through Thursday and remote on Fridays. Contract begins Mid - October.
What you will do in this role:
Lead the development of the overarching global marketing strategy, encompassing clear goals and objectives, precise audience segmentation, effective product marketing strategies, a dynamic editorial calendar, compelling content development, and comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) overviews.
Oversee the development and execution of integrated go-to-market (GTM) plans for North America, including US & Canada (NAM), Mexico (MX), and Latin America (LATAM) channel teams, to guide successful execution of approved and aligned global channel strategies across all relevant marketing touchpoints.
Global Marketing
Lead Media, Social, Influencer, Trade, Retail & Wholesale Marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, consideration, and conversion
Accountable for the measurable outcomes of global integrated marketing programs across all portfolio brands, ensuring thorough performance analysis and the implementation of effective mitigation strategies for continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with Marketing, E-commerce, and Creative teams to ensure seamless integration of all content initiatives
Paid Media
Analyze performance metrics and KPIs to inform strategic decisions, track effectiveness, and continuously optimize campaigns, specifically focused on managing Media performance during the holiday time period
Oversee the tracking and analysis of both Global and NAM key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively identifying opportunities for consumer growth and developing effective strategies to improve performance and enhance functionality.
Utilize data-driven insights to rigorously evaluate the performance of all marketing campaigns and implement optimization strategies for continuous improvement.
Partner with e-Commerce team and Media Agency on weekly sales plans & media performance to ensure Marketing forecast alignment
Strategic Budgement Management
Manage the global marketing budget with fiscal responsibility, ensuring resources are allocated effectively (and adjusted strategically as needed) to maximize return on investment (ROI).
Oversee the NAM, MX, and LATAM budget actualization process, ensuring clear alignment between finance, the direct team, and cross-functional partners, acting as a responsible steward of marketing investments.
Global GTM:
Lead process of briefing agency each quarter and gathering content globally
Lead quarterly plans globally from approvals to regional share-out
Manage campaign execution including global timing / communication, setting and gathering campaign KPIs
Work closely with Integrated Marketing to make sure that seasonal execution content is gathered and put in Quarterly Proof of Execution Deck
Establish GTM timelines for each season (Summer '27 / Fall '27)
Work closely with Integrated Marketing team to ensure all collaboration partners are being communicated to and get post campaign content / KPIs as needed
Maintain global marketing milestones timelines and keep regions on track with key dates / deliverables
Coordinate approvals on any regional activations with VP of Creative & Marketing (looping in exec team as necessary)
Team & Agency Leadership
Supervise and manage ongoing relationships with external agencies, ensuring high-quality output and strong alignment with brand standards
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 15 (3 direct and 12 indirect reports), fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
Who You Are: Requirements
Proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role, ideally within the retail industry
Strong expertise in Paid Media, with hands on management and execution during Peak Holiday retail period, including management of Agency partner
Strong expertise in integrated marketing, with a deep understanding of how channels (PR, influencer, media, retail, trade marketing) work together to drive impact
Demonstrated ability to lead successful marketing strategies across multiple markets
Strong analytical mindset with experience using data and KPIs to drive decision-making and measure success, including previous MMM experience.
Experience managing significant marketing budgets with a clear focus on ROI and business outcomes
Track record of successfully managing and inspiring teams, with strong leadership and coaching capabilities
Experience working with and managing external agencies and partners
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, executional mindset and strong attention to detail
