Senior Electronics Engineer
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Senior Electronics Engineer who will be key in providing support for incidents occurring on vessels in port, in transit, and worldwide and ensure when traveling to support vessels overseas, meet all commercial and military deployment requirements in Newport News, VA. This position is the primary role for the sustainment of C5ISR equipment on Army Vessels.
Job Description:
- Support the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) Tactical Communications Enabler Branch - Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB).
- Support a variety of C5ISR systems and systems integration programs.
- Plan, conducts and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks and travel.
- Assist in the sustainment of C5ISR assets on Army Watercraft including technical, repair, and sustainment services of C5ISR assets and suites of equipment installed on Army Watercraft System (AWS) vessels and platforms.
- Provide technical consultation to customer.
- Dealing with people; working alone; making judgments and decisions; and directing, controlling, or planning the activity of others.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
- On Condition Cyclical Maintenance (OCCM) support.
- Operational/specialized support.
- C5ISR equipment installation and maintenance and reconfiguration or removal of equipment.
- Lead the design and development of complex electronic systems.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing of electronic circuits and systems, utilizing advanced testing methodologies and equipment to validate designs and identify areas for optimization.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Identify potential risks and challenges early in the development process, implementing robust mitigation strategies to ensure project success and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and firmware engineers, as well as other stakeholders, to integrate electronic systems seamlessly into overall product architecture and functionality.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and compliance reports, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in electronic engineering technologies and methodologies, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance processes and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering or technical degree (preferably electrical) with at least 4 years' experience Or a High School Diploma with at least 10 years' of experience working with at least 3 of the following: Navigational Radars, satellite comminution systems, integrated bridge systems, C5ISR equipment, and GMDSS. (10 years of additional experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.)
- Must have previous experience supporting Army Watercraft System C5ISR Sustainment Branch (AWS-CSB).
- Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must have overall system level expertise pertaining to the C5ISR assets installed on Army Vessels/Platforms.
- Must service Army Watercraft vessels in locations worldwide.
- Must have formal training and education in OEM Products.

Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.
Travel Requirements:
- Frequent travel; 25% or less.
- Passport Required.
- Travel will be outside and within the United States and will include urgent support at other locations worldwide.
- Will be based in Newport News, VA and will travel, periodically, to accomplish repairs.
- Position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
