PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES
A Machinist NC A plays a crucial role in the manufacturing aspect of the organization. Primary responsibility is to produce components to specification that will ultimately support the assembly of aerospace latches to be delivered to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - other duties may be assigned
  1. Sets Up and Operates any and/or all CNC Systems 3, 4, and 5 axes in a production environment to produce parts in accordance with specifications given by blueprints, dimensional data sheets, and work order package.
  2. Checks daily schedule (Dispatch List) to ensure what job(s) need to run for the day.
  3. Checks, maintains, lubricates, and degreases production machines and equipment
  4. Starts set-ups and adjusts CNC program to meet specifications required.
  5. Loads parts for machining and performs periodic quality checks for conformance to specifications and planning documents.
  6. Checks and inspects own parts for quality ensuring parts meet correct specifications in accordance with blueprints and data dimensional sheets.
  7. Troubleshoots any potential problems with machinery, and/or programming. Determines and implements a resolution to problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  1. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  2. Requires 4 or more years on-the-job machine shop experience; and/or
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  4. Community College, NTMA or equivalent certificate preferred but not required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  2. Must be able to use basic measuring instruments. (Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, etc.)
  3. Must know the basics of CNC Programming.
  4. Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
