The Functional Test Solutions Sales Specialist, Expert is a strategic technical and business development leader responsible for growing Keysight's Functional Test solutions across the Americas. Working closely with customers, account teams, application engineers, and product organizations, this role identifies and develops new opportunities, defines solution strategies, and helps customers successfully transition products from validation into manufacturing. As a recognized subject matter expert, you will engage with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and business stakeholders to solve complex test challenges, influence customer roadmaps, and accelerate adoption of Keysight solutions within automotive and other advanced electronics industries.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Strategy
- Develop and execute growth strategies for Functional Test solutions across strategic accounts and target markets.
- Identify, qualify, and drive high-value opportunities from early engagement through order closure.
- Partner with account managers and sales leadership to create account plans, opportunity roadmaps, and pursuit strategies.
- Influence customer technology and investment decisions through consultative engagement.
Solution Leadership
- Lead technical discovery and requirements gathering for complex customer opportunities.
- Translate customer requirements into scalable Functional Test solution architectures leveraging Keysight and partner technologies.
- Coordinate internal subject matter experts, application engineers, and partners to develop proposals, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.
- Ensure solutions align with customer technical, operational, and business objectives.
Validation to Manufacturing Expertise
- Advise customers on transitioning products from development and validation into high-volume manufacturing.
- Define test strategies that improve quality, reduce risk, and support manufacturing scalability.
- Provide guidance on test coverage, throughput, traceability, and design-for-test considerations.
- Support customers through key deployment and production ramp milestones.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the central point of coordination for strategic opportunities requiring collaboration across multiple Keysight organizations.
- Lead virtual teams across sales, applications, R&D, product management, services, and partner organizations.
- Communicate opportunity status, technical risks, and recommended actions to stakeholders.
- Share market insights and customer feedback to influence future solution and portfolio development.
Industry Advocacy
- Maintain expertise in Functional Test applications, technologies, and industry trends.
- Represent Keysight at customer workshops, executive briefings, conferences, and industry events.
- Develop reusable best practices, reference architectures, and go-to-market assets that improve organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum eight years of relevant experience in functional test, manufacturing test, validation engineering, applications engineering, solutions engineering, technical sales, or related fields consistent with Expert-level Solutions Specialist expectations.
- Demonstrated expertise in electronic test and measurement technologies and manufacturing test methodologies.
- Experience leading complex customer engagements involving multiple technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of product development, validation, and manufacturing workflows.
- Proven ability to influence customer technical strategies and drive business growth through consultative engagement.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives without direct organizational authority.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, and other locations throughout the Americas.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience supporting automotive electronics development, validation, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience with automated functional test systems and production test deployment.
- Knowledge of RF, wireless connectivity, battery technologies, power electronics, automotive networking, SerDes, high-speed digital, or mixed-signal test applications.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, EMS providers, contract manufacturers, or other advanced electronics manufacturers.
- Experience supporting aerospace, medical device, industrial automation, or semiconductor applications.
- Demonstrated success developing technical proposals, business cases, and growth strategies for strategic opportunities.
- Project or program leadership experience in complex customer environments.
- Experience collaborating with global organizations and cross-functional teams.
