Position Purpose







Under the direction of the Chair/Chief of the Department of Primary Care and Urgent Care as a member of the Renown Medical Group (RMG), the Division Chief Primary Care will work directly and jointly with the Primary Care providers. Direct Reports may include physicians and/or advanced practice clinicians within the Department. The role will need to work effectively within matrix relationships and with other Clinical Integrated Health Network (CIHN) leadership.






Nature and Scope







Position is responsible for leading Renown Health's primary care physician group, recruitment and retention of primary care providers. The role will be instrumental in developing a patient centered approach that will drive the practices, strategies, and performance of primary care within the medical group and the Integrated Health Network (IHN). This role will serve as the leader of the provider reporting structure for primary care providers and will be required to work with administrative and physician leadership to drive performance including but not limited to patient experience, clinical outcomes, utilization, transformational healthcare, and financial outcomes.

The role will maintain a positive relationship and act as a liaison with all providers and others necessary to execute the initiatives needed to drive outcomes. The incumbent will need to ensure that any initiatives that are implemented are done so consistently and compliant with regulatory or policy requirements. Division Chief shall support the mission to build an integrated academic health system through the primary care network.

Incumbent will mentor primary care providers to be successful in an accountable care environment. This includes developing clinical best practices for the primary care team, helping drive utilization efforts within the primary care group, and successfully navigating the financial implications of accountable care. The role needs to be able to successfully analyze data and be able to effectively educate providers around these initiatives.

Position shall have experience with electronic medical records systems that incorporate evidence based medicine protocols and order sets. The incumbent shall work with these systems to maximize efficiency, quality and outcomes.

Position will navigate strategic and operational challenges within a dynamic industry and balance achieving set accountabilities with constraints of limited resources.

This position does provide patient care.

Description



Education:



Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School required. Advanced degree in business desirable.



Experience:



Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare and previous experience in a medical director, section chief, executive, or similiar physician leadership role desired. Experience within a large medical organization with demonstrated success. Experience with transformational healthcare required.



License(s):



Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.



Certification(s):



Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine or Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. If Provider is Board Eligible at time of hire, Certification must be obtained within two (2) years of employment.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS) required. Prefer American Heart Association (AHA) approved certification, but will accept online certification from American Red Cross Training Services, Advanced Medical Certification, or ACLS Certification Institute.

Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.





Ability to credential through Renown's Medical Staff and/or payor credentialing, as applicable.
