Position description

The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at UCLA is seeking applicants to join our clinical faculty in the next academic year. The position will be based at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (DGSOM), with clinical practice at UCLA West Valley Medical Center (WVMC) and Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center (SMMC). WVMC is primarily a community hospital with a Burn Center, STEMI-receiving center, and annual ED volume of 60,000 patients. SMMC is an academic-affiliated community hospital specializing in Orthopedic, Geriatric, and Cardiac care with 50,000 annual ED visits. Faculty at both sites actively participate in our UCLA core medical student rotation in emergency medicine.

The UCLA DEM also has affiliated faculty at Ronald Reagan UCLA, Harbor UCLA, Olive View UCLA, West Los Angeles VA, and Kern Medical Center. We sponsor a Residency Program based at RRMC and OVMC with 15 residents per year, as well as fellowships in toxicology, research, ultrasound, administration, medical education, global health, and space medicine.

The DEM is seeking candidates with a clear commitment to excellence in clinical care and enhancing the talent of the faculty, staff, and trainees. We encourage applicants who have experience working with students from all backgrounds and improving access to higher education for students through teaching and mentoring.

We seek candidates at any Professorial level. Candidates must be Emergency Medicine residency trained, ABEM certified, eligible for California medical licensure, and qualified for faculty appointment in the UCLA School of Medicine.

The Cultural North Star was developed by members of our community and affirms our unswerving commitment to doing what's right, making things better, and being kind. These are the standards to which we hold ourselves, and one another. Cultural North Star
