  • Will assist in managing throughput of patient flow throughout the Emergency Department by notifying the charge nurse of any issues or delays.
  • Will work independently with minimal supervision and utilize policy and procedures of the facility to guide in proper course of action.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform assigned tasks in an efficient and competent manner with an eye for detail.
  • Demonstrates timely call light and telephone skills with a positive response. Must be able to stay positive under pressure.
  • Demonstrates collaboration and effective, clear communication with all members of the interdisciplinary team while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality, professional responsibility and accountability at all times.
  • Delivers quality patient care with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Participates within a team centered proactive approach to patient care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to competently perform all duties of the unit clerk.
  • Perform routine tasks within scope of practice under the supervision of a registered nurse (EKG, assisting patient to the bathroom, Transporting patients, sending specimens to lab, proper use of PPE, cleaning and making of beds, light housekeeping duties in patient rooms and at the nurse's station) These duties will not precede the primary unit clerk responsibilities.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Job Preferred Requirements:

  • Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as a nursing assistant, EMT, monitor tech, or unit secretary, preferably in the area of application.
