Overview Microsoft's Energy, Connectivity, and Sustainability (ECS) organization within Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) supports the company's environmental sustainability agenda through governance, market development, and enabling infrastructure required for long-term business growth. As AI and cloud infrastructure continue to scale globally, customers are increasingly seeking clarity on the environmental impacts associated with digital infrastructure-including energy use, water consumption, and lifecycle emissions. These topics are becoming a regularcomponentof enterprise customer conversations and procurement decision-making. The Sustainability Enablement Manager will sit within CELA ECS and support Microsoft's communication functions by helping translate Microsoft's sustainability commitments and progress into business-relevant narratives that can be used internally and externally. This role will contribute to internal readiness by questions related to the resource intensity of AI and cloud technologies and the environmental impacts associated with digital infrastructure growth. Impact In this role, you will support ECS by enabling effective engagement on sustainability topics related to AI and cloud infrastructure-helping ensure that Microsoft's sustainability commitmentsand progressare clearlyelevatedinrelevantconversations and aligned with broader business growthobjectives. Responsibilities Engagement Support Support ECS inpreparing forsustainability-related engagements Participate in meetings asappropriate tocommunicate Microsoft's sustainability commitments and progress related to infrastructure growth. Assistinternal stakeholders in addressing questions related to the environmental impacts of cloud and AI technologies, including but not limited to emissions, energy use, and water consumption. Content Development Develop and tailor sustainability-focused presentation materials for use in engagements, briefings, and executive meetings. Prepare briefing documents and talking points for internal leadersparticipatingin sustainability-focused customer discussions. Maintain sustainability engagement assets aligned with approved corporate messaging frameworks developed by CELA ECS. Enablement Collaborate with stakeholders to support sustainability-related readiness in conversations. Contribute to internal briefings and readiness materials that prepare internal presenters for customer conversationsregardingthe environmental impact of Microsoft's digital infrastructure. Support scalable approaches to sustainability engagement across regions and industries. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with internal stakeholders across Microsoft teams to align sustainability messaging with evolving priorities. Support ECS efforts to scale sustainable markets and infrastructure in ways that enable broader digital infrastructure growth. Qualifications Required qualifications: Master's Degree AND 3+ years work experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropies, government affairs, business and international development, or related area and experience developing executive-level presentation materials including experience communicating sustainability or technical topics in a clear, business-relevant manner.OR Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years' work experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropies, government affairs, business and international development, or related area and experience developing executive-level presentation materials including experience communicating sustainability or technical topics in a clear, business-relevant manner. OR equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications: Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams. Familiarity with corporate sustainability topics such as carbon accounting, renewable energy, oremissionsreduction strategies. Experience supporting enterprise engagements (e.g.briefings, workshops, or executive meetings). Experience supporting internal enablement or readiness efforts. Corporate Social Responsibility IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $105,800 - $204,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $138,400 - $223,300 per year.
