Responsibilities
Wellstone Regional Hospitalis a 100-bed acute care facilitylocatedin Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, and theAdultpopulation. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is currently searching fora dependable Milieu Specialist (Lead Tech.) https://www.wellstonehospital.com. The MilieuSpecialist will have responsibility for the development and implementation of the therapeutic milieu within the Acute Psychiatric Services unit. To ensure safety and consistency in treating the patients, the MilieuSpecialistwill have the responsibility of encouraging theteamapproach to therapeutic interventions. In consultation with the Nurse Managers, Director of Clinical Services, and the Chief Nursing Officer they willassistthe Nurse Supervisors in the monitoring of unit activities and daily duties assigned to the Mental HealthTechnicians The role of the MilieuSpecialistis that of a resource to the members of the interdisciplinary treatment team with a goal of fostering a therapeutic milieu that encourages the achievement of treatment goals. This might include assistance with the direct care and management of the patients; the provision of supervision, safety, and crisis management for the patient population; the completion of documentation of patient behavior and participation in programming; the adherence to the scheduled activities; role modeling positive, mature behavior; utilizing positive behavioral strategies to minimize patient crisis and maximize success; etc. Qualifications Duties:

QUALIFICATIONS Education:HighSchool Degree or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred. Experience:One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred; 3 years highly recommended. Licensure/Certifications:None required, CNA is a plus! Additional Requirements: CPI (physical interventions) and CPR training. May berequiredto work overtime and flexible hours when needed. MUST have clear communication/interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psychoeducation groups. Hours of Work:2ndshift, 2p-10p, rotating weekends; other times asindicatedby immediate supervisor.
