Title: Financial Controller
Salary: up to 180k DOE
Remote - Must reside on the East Coast only

Our client is a rapidly growing international professional services organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations function. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the company's financial processes while supporting strategic growth initiatives.
The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and risk management. This position also provides leadership to a geographically dispersed accounting team and serves as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership.
This is a remote role, but you MUST reside on the east coast
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Team Leadership
  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger activities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals across multiple locations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and key financial metrics to support organizational performance and liquidity.
Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Partner with finance leadership to support annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
  • Assist in developing financial plans that align with organizational objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Monitor performance against budget and identify areas of risk or opportunity.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal control processes.
  • Ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect company assets and financial data.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and address any findings or recommendations.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
  • Collaborate with external advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax requirements.
  • Support tax filings, audits, and regulatory examinations as needed.
Strategic Finance & Process Improvement
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support business growth.
  • Evaluate existing financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Support system implementations and enhancements when applicable.
Risk Management
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in maintaining insurance programs and risk management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support sound financial governance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification needed .
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
  • Prior experience within a professional services, consulting, or project-based business environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams.
  • Experience managing multi-entity and international accounting environments, including foreign currency considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
