Title: Financial Controller Salary: up to 180k DOE Remote - Must reside on the East Coast only Our client is a rapidly growing international professional services organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations function. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the company's financial processes while supporting strategic growth initiatives. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and risk management. This position also provides leadership to a geographically dispersed accounting team and serves as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership. This is a remote role, but you MUST reside on the east coast Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Team Leadership Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger activities. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals across multiple locations. Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and key financial metrics to support organizational performance and liquidity. Financial Reporting Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights to leadership. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Budgeting & Forecasting Partner with finance leadership to support annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes. Assist in developing financial plans that align with organizational objectives and growth initiatives. Monitor performance against budget and identify areas of risk or opportunity. Internal Controls & Compliance Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal control processes. Ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect company assets and financial data. Coordinate internal and external audits and address any findings or recommendations. Tax & Regulatory Compliance Collaborate with external advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax requirements. Support tax filings, audits, and regulatory examinations as needed. Strategic Finance & Process Improvement Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support business growth. Evaluate existing financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements. Support system implementations and enhancements when applicable. Risk Management Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Assist in maintaining insurance programs and risk management initiatives. Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support sound financial governance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent professional certification needed . Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role. Prior experience within a professional services, consulting, or project-based business environment preferred. Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams. Experience managing multi-entity and international accounting environments, including foreign currency considerations. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
