Job Summary

The Sr. Designer is a senior-level design/drafting position, responsible for producing design layouts and finished drawings. Incumbents will be assigned to custom jobs involving, but not limited to, field survey, design sketches, engineering support, layout and final drawings. Coordinating and checking of all drawings assigned to them to assure that the drawings are accurate and error-free.

Essential Functions



  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Assists the Drafting Design Lead in determining scope requirements, coordinating jobs and conducting training.
  • Assists Drafters in lower classifications with questions/issues during performance of project work.
  • Performs basic and complex layouts.
  • Produces new drawings as well as checks drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Pick-up red marks from check prints and correct drawings as required.
  • Performs detailed dimensional and bill of material check of all drawings.
  • Checks entire job for design compliance, interferences and constructability.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed.


Qualifications



  • 2+ year of accredited drafting or design training is preferred
  • 4+ years of related tank, vessel or fabrication experience required.
  • Advanced AutoCAD and/or Inventor knowledge preferred.
  • Strong understanding of various drafting disciplines such as vessels, structural, etc.
  • General understanding of fabrication, purchasing, and field construction.
  • Ability to understand and use general math and advanced trigonometry functions.
  • Possess good communication skills both written and oral
  • Knowledge and understanding of API, AISC, ASME and various codes and standards required for different types of work.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a strong team player
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
