Scope of Work: The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing fabrication projects for power generation packages, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company objectives. This role coordinates across Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Sales to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Manage full project lifecycle from kickoff through fabrication, testing, and delivery.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with Engineering to ensure designs and specifications are clearly defined and executed.
- Work closely with fabrication teams to align production schedules and resolve technical or logistical issues.
- Monitor project costs and support P&L objectives through effective cost control.
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Identify and mitigate risks, proactively resolving issues that may impact schedule, quality, or cost.
- Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in project execution and workflow efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or power generation.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and engineering drawings.
- Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule management.
- PMP certification preferred but not required.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of resource planning, project scheduling, and cost control/budget management.
- Ability to interpret contracts, scopes of work, and project deliverables.
- Working knowledge of structural fabrication, electrical, mechanical piping, and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience managing subcontractors, including scheduling and coordination.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail, particularly in resolving project and material issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, AISC, NEC, API) is a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Position is full-time in the office
- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Some occasional extended hours may be required
- Sitting; occasional bending or kneeling; lift and carry a maximum of 50 Lbs., reach overhead for lightweight items
