As the Vertical Market Manager, you will lead Ryerson's sales and service efforts to grow with major OEMs building aircraft and spacecraft, Tier 1 suppliers providing critical systems, engines and large aerostructures, and other tiered suppliers which include those providing precision machining, complex weldments and fabrications, sheet metal assemblies, and other systems and components going into aerospace end-use equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Increase revenue and profits in the Aerospace end market
  • Identify, research, and evaluate strategic opportunities for Ryerson in the Aerospace industry
  • Coordinate the sales approach with local sales management and regional/corporate entities
  • Communicate to Ryerson about product information, industry trends, and other technical information
  • Develop supply chains to support growth within the Aerospace markets
  • Manage key customer relationships and interact with the highest-level decision makers at top target customers
  • Work with the marketing team to create and promote sales tools and marketing collateral
  • Track and report sales results and customer deliverables both internally and externally
  • Develop pricing parameters for products sold into the Aerospace end markets
  • Coordinate all aspects of the quote process for contracts, from generating the opportunity, working with product management, proposing and gaining executive approvals on margin levels, finalizing the quote details, and submittal to the customer
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Strong knowledge of Aerospace metal supply base
  • Preferred experience with major Aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
  • Strong commercial skills, with a proven record of performance in metals and related services
  • Must be comfortable communicating with and to all levels of an organization
  • Ideal candidate located on or near the west coast, but must be willing to visit accounts located across the US on a regular basis.
  • 30-40% travel will be necessary



Salary: $134,450.00 - $168,000.00annually plus additional sales incentives. A starting salary higher than $134,450.00 is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale, along with local cost of living adjustment.
