Description

Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking a Trademark Analyst for the Intellectual Property Department in our New York, Atlanta, Seattle or San Francisco office. This position will be primarily supporting the Greater China Practice Team within the Trademark and Copyright Group, working closely with attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. Under the general supervision of department attorneys, client teams and paralegals, the Trademark Analyst will work as part of a collaborative team providing legal services to clients. Principal responsibilities include supporting trademark clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement matters, as well as providing administrative and billable support to trademark client teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement tasks, including but not limited to:



  • Review and translate official notices and registrations for accuracy.
  • Assist with powers of attorneys and legalizations.
  • Draft reporting and reminder letters to clients.
  • Assist with post-registration maintenance, including conduct related use analysis and renewals.
  • Prepare client team deliverables in preferred formats, including charts, agendas, and spreadsheets.
  • Conduct research regarding trademark use, company registration information, and potential infringement activities on websites and social media platforms.
  • Update client docket databases with prosecution developments.
  • Maintain prosecution status updates charts and assist with preparing weekly client meeting agendas.
  • Support various other trademark-related projects as needed, both administrative and legal.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Fluent Mandarin Chinese language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), including the ability to conduct research using and translating Chinese-language materials is highly preferred
  • Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work independently and proactively.
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated honesty, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong orientation toward detail; strong editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure.
  • Cooperative, flexible, and team-orientated attitude.
  • Availability to work after hours and weekends, as needed.


    This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position in New York only is $37.36 to $46.70 per hour, and in Atlanta, Seattle and San Francisco is $34.87 to $43.59 per hour.
