Provide the Health Plan Operational Compliance with department, divisional and/or segment focused business and operational support to include operational planning and implementations, compliance research, reporting, data and/or issue analysis, internal/external marketing materials assessments, product support, and special projects. This position will be engaged in various business initiatives and collaborations planning to ensure HP business needs and issues align with compliance related goals.

What You'll Do

Business Planning

  • Facilitate planning of strategic goals and development of departmental/divisional operational plans. Engage with segment related staff meetings across compliance teams to support follow up activities to achieve business goals.

  • May produce segment business plans and analysis under guidance from Segment Leads.

  • Assist and/or lead as directed to coordinate, plan and facilitate various departmental/divisional events (i.e. Departmental Summits, All Hands Meetings, Leadership Planning Sessions, staff meetings) to make them more effective, purposeful and outcomes based.

  • Assist with the overall staff assignments and implementations and transitions to, taking into account multiple and interrelated initiatives to either increase or decrease headcount, each with their own set of success criteria/outcomes, and duration. Responsible for tracking employee assignments, accomplishments reporting for monthly report per Business Directives and other key inputs.

  • Aid in the adoption of standard operating procedures and processes for the department and assist with the communication and education of new SOPs outside of the department.

  • Lead change management work to support business and process improvements and overall departmental/divisional effectiveness.

Project Coordination

  • Handle special projects for the department/division/segment as assigned. Possible duties could include:

  • Assist in the evaluation of potential opportunities to reduce costs/improve efficiencies within the assigned areas, which may include compliance support and evaluations of other business areas, as assigned. The goal is to address issues as assigned to achieve objectives.

  • Lead the review and evaluation of best or next practice opportunities for potential adoption to achieve compliance.

  • Review industry literature and research compliance regulations and ensure Compliance team or business areas is briefed on current and emerging issues of importance to the organization. Support Compliance Advisors in this activity to include research on various topics.

  • Serve as lead on engagements with external entities (i.e. consultants) and coordinate data gathering and research efforts based on the direction of leadership.

  • Track initiatives/projects for the department/division/segment and may create presentations of initiative/project progress for varied audiences, which may include Company Leadership.

Data Analysis/Reporting

  • Consolidate and standardize data analysis and reporting for relevant business operations.

  • Support Creation of Monthly business reporting, including but not limited to Unified Report of Compliance and Audit Activities.

  • Track goal progress, including data collection and analysis of key performance metrics (KPIs) within the department and within the health plan as needed.

  • Provide Compliance support in reviewing reporting submissions to ensure alignment with tech specs. Engage with business areas and DnA to ensure impact and outcome meets compliance/regulatory guidelines. Represent Compliance as requested on implementation or project teams.

Business Partnerships

  • Represent department to internal and/or external partnership meetings, and capture discussions for follow-up

  • Lead Implementation of the Health Plan Compliance Impact Monthly Session.

  • Prepare input for Monthly and department Scuba Sessions and reports

  • Support review of materials during peak review season as requested

  • Support management in conducting vendor assessments as required by business operations' needs.

  • Create and maintain strong linkages with Internal Audit, Compliance and business teams to ensure reporting of issues and concerns for leadership attention.

What You Have

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field

Bonus Points

  • Experience working as a business analyst, business operations advisor, or in a similar analytical role

  • Demonstrated data experience using flow mapping tools to turn raw data into meaningful insights

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to create leadership ready summaries and presentations

  • Advance Excel and PowerPoint knowledge

  • The ability to work through ambiguity, adjust to managing multiple priorities, and collaborate across teams

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
