Medication Technician

Schedule:

Schedules available include working every weekend and every other holiday

Available Shifts:

  1. 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. I 15 hours per pay period

*Same Day Pay Available*

Required Experience:

  1. Previous experience as a Medication Technician required if formal training has not been completed
  2. Previous experience as a Nurse Aide required
  3. Experience in assisted living or memory care preferred

The Difference You'll Make

  1. Safely administer prescribed medications, including oral medications and, when trained and authorized, subcutaneous insulin, in accordance with physician orders and community policy
  2. Assist residents with medication administration while monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions
  3. Accurately document medication administration, including PRN use, effectiveness, and any follow-up interventions
  4. Obtain and record vital signs as needed to assess resident response to medications
  5. Maintain accurate and timely medical records under appropriate supervision
  6. Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, supporting overall care needs
  7. Foster a respectful, compassionate environment for residents, families, and team members

Qualifications:

Education Preferred:

  1. Successful completion of an approved Medication Technician training program preferred

Experience Required:

  1. Previous experience as a Medication Technician required if formal training has not been completed
  2. Previous experience as a CENA or Nurse Aide required
  3. Experience in assisted living or memory care preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Resident-centered approach with awareness and sensitivity to individual needs and abilities
  2. Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment
  3. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  4. Working knowledge of electronic charting systems and basic computer applications
  5. Dependability and ability to follow written and verbal directions
  6. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and transferring residents
  7. Professional maturity and composure in a fast-paced care environment
