At Parker, our team members belong, matter and make a difference. POSITION SUMMARY: Contribute to the site's operational excellence by supporting the use of Parker Lean Systems (PLS). This role focuses on fostering a continuous improvement mindset and assisting leadership in executing strategic lean projects to optimize site-wide efficiency. Position reports to the Lean Manager. May also have reporting accountability to the Manufacturing, Operations or Business Unit Manager. Ensures full Lean education and implementation in all functions at the plant and / or facility level to insure sustainability. RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads and guides Lean initiatives within the Plant. Works with Plant level management on Lean projects using lean tools and metrics. Assists in the development of a Lean Strategy to be implemented plant wide. Coordinate initiatives at the plant and train associates how to continually eliminate waste. Leads or assists in Value Stream Transformations and the deployment of technical methodologies including 5S, value stream mapping, one-piece flow, and quick changeover. These tools will support waste elimination and support optimization of throughput in both office and factory environments. Key responsibilities include conducting time and motion studies, cell layout and flow, assisting value stream tracking centers, and taking ownership of lean tool deployment on assigned projects to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Provides effective change management, leadership, and optimization in implementing the corporate WIN strategy across the Plant. Serves as a catalyst for successful and sustained lean implementation. Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting material control, product quality and customer service goals. Supports coaching and teaching of lean principles using outside resources. Ensures ongoing education of all employees at the Plant in Lean. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment. Position must understand the current culture by reviewing existing documentation of policies and procedures. Position is responsible for working with all operating disciplines by using value stream management to develop a master plan of meeting the goals of Lean. QUALIFICATIONS: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline. Ability to articulate lean principles, including the purpose and value of lean, and constantly moving in the direction of waste elimination. Sufficient analytical skills and ability to drive projects with little oversight. Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment. Experience with presentation skills in order to effectively share the success and ideas of the Division.
