Overview

We will be hosting Open Interviews on Wednesday, the 13th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

We will be hiring for Truss Builders for our first and second shifts

First shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

Pay: $17/hr

Second shift: 3:30 pm to 2:00 am

Pay: $19/hr

Monday through Friday with eventual Saturdays

An entry-level truss builder is responsible for assembling wood trusses used in residential and commercial construction. This role involves reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, and using hand and power tools to construct trusses according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble roof and floor trusses using pre-cut lumber and metal connector plates
  • Read and interpret blueprints or work orders
  • Operate saws, nail guns, and other hand/power tools safely
  • Ensure trusses meet quality control standards
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment to meet daily quotas
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Construction, landscaping, framing, hardscaping, carpentry, and/or concrete pouring experience.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment (lifting 50+ lbs, standing for long periods)
  • Team player with good communication skills in English or Spanish
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to production requirements
  • Must pass a drug test and background check

Schedule:

  • Second shift: 3:30 pm to 2:30 am - Monday through Friday (Sometimes Saturdays)

Pay:$19.00/hr ($17+ $2 Shift differential)

Descripcion del puesto:

Un constructor de cerchas de nivel inicial es responsable de ensamblar cerchas de madera utilizadas en la construccion residencial y comercial. Este rol implica leer planos, medir y cortar materiales, y utilizar herramientas manuales y electricas para construir cerchas de acuerdo con las especificaciones.

Responsabilidades principales:
  • Ensamblar cerchas de techo y piso utilizando madera precortada y placas metalicas de conexion
  • Leer e interpretar planos o ordenes de trabajo
  • Operar sierras, pistolas de clavos y otras herramientas manuales/electricas de forma segura
  • Asegurar que las cerchas cumplan con los estandares de control de calidad
  • Trabajar en un entorno de produccion de ritmo rapido para cumplir con las metas diarias
  • Mantener un area de trabajo limpia y organizada
  • Seguir los protocolos de seguridad y usar el equipo de proteccion personal (EPP) adecuado
Habilidades y calificaciones:
  • Experiencia en construccion, jardineria, framing (estructura), hardscaping, carpinteria y/o colado de concreto
  • Capacidad para leer una cinta metrica y realizar calculos matematicos basicos
  • Comodidad trabajando en un entorno fisicamente exigente (levantar mas de 50 libras, estar de pie por periodos prolongados)
  • Buen trabajo en equipo y habilidades de comunicacion en ingles o espanol
  • Disposicion para aprender y adaptarse a los requisitos de produccion
  • Debe pasar prueba de drogas y verificacion de antecedentes

Responsibilities

Inserting or positioning materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts by hand and with power tools, and verifying dimensions of cut material by following supervisor's instructions, blueprint specifications, and the cut sheet layout.

Using a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints.

Quality control of assembled items, proposing process improvements when applicable to increase efficiency.

Following prioritized production list assigned by Assembler Lead and using assigned press stations to place and press plates on appropriate lumber.

Fulfilling daily machine and area cleanup procedures.


Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one

Ability to read and understand simple diagrams, blueprints, and a tape measure

Ability to work 10-12 hours shifts and lift up to 80 pounds

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
