Assembler I

Farr West, UT

Starting rate $18.00 per hour

Description:

Performs repetitive work station or line assembly operations to mass produce and assemble products by performing the following duties as follows;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.

Have knowledge of shop machines and able to operates press brakes, Saws, Shears, Rolls to assemble sheets

Able to read and understand blueprints

Verify material type, thickness and sizes

Operates both stationary and moving overhead cranes

Operates forklift when required

Operates any equipment needed to perform job

Listen and follow instructions

Complete work in a timely matter

Performs related duties as needed by supervision

Maintain a safe work environment

Skills and requirements:

Six months training/experience with saws/shear, brake press, and/or rolls operations. Advanced math skills.

Education:

High School / GED.

Minimum Requirements:

High School education or GED preferred. Six months training/experience with saws/shear, brake press, and/or rolls operations. Advanced math skills.

Training: As determined.

Essential Mental Functions:

Must be able to understand implicit and explicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.

Essential Physical Functions:

Requires lifting, stooping, bending and stretching to accomplish grinding, welding and other assigned duties. Requires ability to work at different heights. Requires correctable vision to within normal range to perform clean and uniform welds and read blueprints. Requires standing, bending and stooping for extended periods of time.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the employer's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

Equipment Used (but not limited to):

Saws, Brake Press, Rolls.

Availability:

-Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

-Must be available and willing to work overtime as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Travel:

Must be available and willing to travel as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Working Conditions:

Works in a typical fabrication shop surroundings. Occasionally called upon to work overtime. Working conditions may vary according to weather. Requires ability to work in heat and cold.
