DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on overseeing nursing services and ensuring safe, complete care for residents in the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Veterans Home. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Health Services Leadership: Plan and evaluate daily care and treatment activities for residents
- Staff Supervision: Guide and assess nursing personnel in their assigned tasks and responsibilities
- Documentation Review: Monitor records, assessments and care plans for accuracy and timely updates
- Safety Oversight: Identify hazards and take corrective actions to protect residents and staff
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work with managers, families and support teams to ensure quality care

- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, working every other weekend, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability..
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
