DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the fiscal management needs of key employment and training programs within the Office of Income Maintenance. It plays an important role in tracking funding, reviewing program spending, and preparing financial reports. As a Fiscal Management Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Fiscal Support: Serve as the fiscal contact for assigned employment and training programs and prepare budgets and projections
- Financial Analysis: Review spending data, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for funding issues
- Budget Preparation: Develop requests, updates, and supporting materials for major budget submissions and reviews
- Report Development: Prepare monthly budget and expenditure reports using spreadsheets, charts, and graphs
- Collaboration Meetings: Coordinate discussions with policy staff to ensure program spending aligns with plans and requirements
- Liaison Duties: Work with internal and external partners to support financial reporting and problem resolution

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch; however, these hours are negotiable
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, as well as any additional times specified by management. Additional in-office days may be required during training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
