RK&K is committed to finding a dedicated and strong Administrative Assistant for our Columbia, SC office in support of our Transportation Engineering Group. In this role, you will provide task-oriented support for our projects and teams.

Essential Functions



  • Provide office coverage at the front office reception desk during our core hours of operation; typically, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Greet clients, vendors and guests in a personable and helpful manner
  • Arrange internal and external meetings and events including equipment and other needs
  • Answer phones and operate switchboard - exhibit professional demeanor while responding to calls, emails and interacting internally and externally
  • Receive and route daily mail and overnight packages; prepare outgoing mail and packages/equipment - distribute tracking information to appropriate individuals
  • Order office supplies and keep an inventory of supplies
  • Take pride in the appearance of the office area
  • Assist with invoices and progress reports
  • Draft and edit meeting minutes, correspondence and other documents
  • Manage calendars and travel arrangements
  • Accomplish various professional office administrative tasks


Required Skills and Experience



  • Minimum five (5) years' professional office administration experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills with working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in managing confidential or sensitive information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Highly organized and meticulous attention to detail


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Prior experience in AEC administration
