POSITION PURPOSE

The Sr. Manager, Capital Programs & Site Readiness will drive the planning, execution, and integration of multiple concurrent capital programs, ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with business priorities, engineering standards, production readiness requirements, and long-term operational strategy. This role serves as a key cross-functional leader, enabling successful project delivery and a smooth transition from capital execution to stable site operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES



  • Portfolio Leadership

    • Own and drive execution of multiple concurrent capital programs across site expansion, product commercialization, and infrastructure improvements
    • Establish priorities, sequencing, and resource alignment across the project portfolio
    • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, quality, and engineering standards.


  • Site Readiness & Business Integration

    • Ensure alignment between project delivery and production readiness requirements
    • Drive integration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain
    • Ensure commissioning, qualification, startup, training, spare parts, maintenance plans, SOPs, staffing readiness, and operational handoff requirements are defined and executed.
    • Ensure successful transition from project completion to stable operations


  • Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
    • Act as central coordination point across internal stakeholders and external partners
    • Resolve conflicts and remove barriers to execution


  • Execution Oversight

    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to scope
    • Provide oversight to project managers, contractors, and vendors
    • Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation
    • Manage capital budgets, forecasts, cash flow, change controls, and cost-to-complete reporting across assigned programs.


  • Strategic Alignment

    • Support development of capital plans, project charters, business cases, budget estimates, and investment prioritization recommendations.
    • Align capital projects with long-term operational and reliability strategy
    • Ensure consistency with engineering standards and site capabilities


  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management

    • Oversee performance of external partners including contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers
    • Ensure effective communication and alignment with leadership

  • On-time delivery of capital project portfolio
  • Successful production readiness for new products and capacity expansions
  • Effective cross-functional alignment and execution
  • Reduction in project-related delays and cost overruns
  • Smooth transition from project completion to stable operations


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (required)
  • Master's Degree or advanced technical/business degree (preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred)


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:



  • Strong knowledge of capital project portfolio management, engineering project execution, manufacturing operations, and site readiness requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, contractor/vendor oversight, commissioning, startup, and operational handoff.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, safety and compliance requirements, capital investment prioritization, and long-term operational reliability strategy.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering, capital projects, manufacturing operations, facilities, or project/program management, including experience leading site expansion, infrastructure, or capacity growth projects.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Project Management: Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, vendor management, and capital governance processes.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, food, pharmaceutical, chemical, packaging, or regulated production environments preferred.


SKILLS/ABILITIES:



  • Strong knowledge of capital project planning and execution, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, change control, contractor oversight, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing operations, site expansion, infrastructure development, production readiness, maintenance readiness, quality readiness, and operational handoff.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, manage external partners, resolve execution barriers, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, safety requirements, regulatory expectations, capital governance, and long-term reliability and operational strategy.


WORKING CONDITIONS



  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.


SALARY RANGE



  • $160,000 - $170,000 annually, plus bonus
