JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Human Resources provides senior-level leadership, strategic execution and operational oversight for Harvesters' human resources, compensation, benefits, employee relations, workforce development, and internal communications functions. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role serves as a key implementation partner for organizational people strategy translating organizational direction into effective programs, systems, and practices.




The director leads HR managers responsible for daily implementation while advising the CHRO on workforce trends, pay and benefit strategy, staff engagement, organizational risk and culture-building initiatives. This is a hybrid eligible position.

Primary responsibilities: The Director of Human Resources will partner with the CHRO to operationalize and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals, workforce needs and cultural and strategic priorities. This director serves as a senior HR resource on employee relations matters, providing consultation, guidance, and escalation support as needed. They will collaborate with the Internal Communications Manager to ensure internal communications facilitate staff engagement, cultural alignment and transparency and champion initiatives that strengthen staff experience, recognition, and organizational connection. Partnering with the Senior Human Resources Manager, they will guide and align talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, development, retention, and succession planning efforts. This person will provide strategic oversight of Harvesters' total rewards program, including compensation structures, benefits offerings, and wellness initiatives. The Director of Human Resources will provide oversight of HR systems, data integrity, reporting, and workflows to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and informed decision-making.

Other aspects of the job: This position performs additional duties as assigned to support organizational and departmental priorities. This position requires comprehension of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety related procedures. This individual must maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards.

Qualifications:

Required



  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership or senior-level duties.
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation and benefits strategy, employee relations, and workforce planning.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching and relationship-building dexterity.
  • Propensity to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational support.
  • Good working knowledge of HRIS systems.


Preferred



  • Masters degree in Human Resources or related field
  • SHRM or HRCI certification
  • Experience working in a mission-driven or nonprofit organization.
  • Experience working in a blended office and frontline workforce.
