Position Summary

Under the direction of the Shop Manager, the Electric Motor Winder is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and rewinding a variety of electro-mechanical equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect electro-mechanical equipment for damage and electrical malfunctions
  • Test winding conditions according to EASA standards
  • Document motor data including electro-magnetic characteristics and operating conditions
  • Dismantle and strip damaged or unserviceable equipment
  • Prepare and inspect reusable parts for rewinding
  • Perform rewinding using proper insulating techniques
  • Test rewound equipment and document results
  • Operate specialized equipment such as winding machines, surge testers, core-loss testers, ovens, cranes, forklifts, and power tools
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Adhere to company policies and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Technical Certification or Associate's Degree preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Prior experience as a motor winder a plus, but willing to train
  • Experience in industrial, electro-mechanical, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
